Babylon's Fall Description
Babylon's Fall is a fantasy online action RPG hack'n'slash where we play from a third person perspective (TPP). The game was developed by Square Enix and the Japanese studio PlatinumGames, a team responsible for such titles as NieR: Automata, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and the Bayonetta series. The game was directed by Kenji Sato (PlatinumGames) and produced by Yosuke Saito and Junichi Ehara (Square Enix).
Plot
The only reminder of the ancient Babylonian empire is their huge tower, Ziggurat. The new empire has come to plunder its ruins and find the legendary treasures hidden inside. However, not everyone is able to penetrate the walls of the tower and face the dangers lurking within. However, the Empire has found a way to put its plan into action.
In this story, the player takes control of one of the Sentinels - prisoners who have been forcibly implanted with a parasitic device called Gideon Coffin into their backs. In exchange for their successful connection to the relic, they have gained access to unparalleled powers that allow them to confront the tower's guards and bring about its ultimate downfall.
Game mechanics
The main goal of Babylon's Fall is to fight numerous enemies, increase your character's skills and explore the vast game world. The developers also decided to introduce live-service support to their game, thanks to which the title will be regularly enriched with new content.
While climbing to higher and higher levels of the tower, players encounter various adversaries on their way, including giant bosses, which they have to neutralize at all costs. In combat, players use two weapons, but thanks to the previously mentioned Gideon's Coffin, they can also equip two more, allowing them to develop better strategies and unleash a more elaborate series of attacks.
There are five different types of weaponry available in the game and it's up to the player to choose which combination to equip their character with (a hero can wield a variety of weapons as well as use four swords or four hammers in battle).
As players move through the vast landscapes of Babylon's Fall, they not only track down and eliminate enemies, but also gather materials to use in crafting and creating increasingly powerful equipment.
Game modes
Babylon's Fall allows to play in co-op mode. One team can be formed by up to four people (the requirement is a stable, broadband Internet connection and a free Square Enix account).
Technical aspects
The game features unique, three-dimensional graphics. The very unique scenery of Babylon's Fall is inspired by European oil painting, and was prepared using a specially developed type of brush.
The soundtrack is based on the so-called medieval sound, created by PlatinumGames. The heavy and solemn sounds of the orchestra further build up the unique atmosphere of the game.
