Another Fisherman's Tale

Another Fisherman's Tale is the second installment of a puzzle game series originating from 2019, created with VR in mind. It was developed by the same studio as its predecessor, Innerspace VR, and published by Vertigo Games.

Plot

The main protagonist of Another Fisherman's Tale is Nina, the daughter of Bob, a fisherman puppet known from the series' previous installments. She must follow the trail of his stories filled with pirates, sunken ships, hidden treasures and legendary places, learning the truth behind them and separating fact from fiction. She can visualize her father's stories with notes, models and photos showing his past and her childhood.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Another Fisherman's Tale is shown from the first-person perspective (FPP). The player traverses various locations, discovers their secrets and solves numerous puzzles. Puzzles mainly revolve around using puppet parts, detaching them from the main body and controlling them from a distance. For example, we can throw a hand to grab a hard-to-reach item or raise the head to look at a location from a different perspective. The player gradually acquires new items which can replace limbs, granting new abilities. Pirate hooks let us climb walls, a crab claw cuts through ropes and a fish tail lets us move more efficiently through water.

Technical aspects

The visuals of Another Fisherman's Tale are colorful, cartoonish and reminiscent of Pixar's animated movies.
