Game Expansions for Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Combat Pilot
Simulation 19 December 2012
A MMO flight simulator released as an expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. In opposition to other dedicated add-ons, Combat Pilot offers the ability to take control of one of fifty combat planes and engage in aerial battles with other players. All machines were recreated with due piety, while the controls and handling of individual machines correspond with their real life counterparts. Combat Pilot values teamwork - a skilled and cooperating team is the key to beating our opponents. Beginners can learn the art of flying through an extensive training module, while more advanced players are given an experience system that enables us to ascend through subsequent ranks of military career. The game is powered by Microsoft Flight Simulator X engine, with a number of technical additions, including dedicated servers, AI-controlled air control towers, or complex radio communication modules, as well as new models, textures, or maps.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration
Simulation 23 October 2007
The first expansion to the famed flight simulator from Microsoft. Aside from other, more cosmetic additions, Acceleration adds Windows Vista support, introducing some of its features such as Game Explorer or Parental Control. The add-on introduces new missions, multiplayer racing mode, and 3 extra aircraft: F/A-18 Hornet, P-51 Mustang, and AgustaWestland 101, a utility helicopter. The flight mechanics remain unchanged – we are still dealing with a highly-realistic flight simulator that involves successful takeoff, steady flight, and successful landing, as well as air traffic control messages or weather conditions. The world of Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration is built from 24 thousand airfields from all around the world, fifty authentic cities, and fifteen faithfully-recreated aircraft.
Tatra Photo Scenery
Simulation 27 July 2007
The fourth add-on to Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002/2004 – two entries in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series. Traditionally, the dev team at Simdesign have developed this game. As was the case with the previous expansion, in Tatra Photo Scenery the devs made the flights over Poland in the game much more interesting by introducing detailed landscape maps. As one might surmise from the title, Tatra Photo Scenery offers the ability to marvel at the Tatra mountains, i.e. the highest peaks of Poland and Slovakia, from within a plane. The area rendered in the game encompasses around 3 thousand square kilometers. A detailed landscape of the Tatras could have been generated thanks to satellite pictures. Thanks to advanced technology, including the ERDAS Imagine system, the developers were able to render detailed topographical features such as summits, passes and ridges.
Warsaw Photo Scenery
Simulation 15 December 2006
An expansion pack for the popular flight simulation game series by Microsoft, Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It is one of several packs, which allow you to pilot modern planes above Poland. Warsaw Photo Scenery features faithfully recreated map of the Polish capital city. The expansion consists of an area around 1300 square kilometers in size, including Warsaw and the nearby towns (e.g. Lomianki and Piaseczno). The city plan was created using authentic aerial photos depicting the distinct layout of the streets and buildings.
VFR Poland 3D Landmarks
Simulation 04 November 2006
One of Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons developed by Simdesign. VFR Poland 3D Landmarks adds the land objects that are used as reference in VFR (Visual Flight Rules) navigation over the area of Poland. The developers used real flight plans, mapped in accordance with AIP POLAND ENR 5.4 Amendment No 060, which enabled them to recreate some of the characteristic land objects, including tall buildings and objects such as skyscrapers, masts, chimneys, or fuel tanks. In all, the add-on introduces 366 land objects, generated using GMAX, a rendering package with additional post-production effects including advanced lighting. The add-on also contains a set of special effects and animations that create more believable weather conditions that can be encountered on Polish skies. VFR Poland 3D Landmarks is fully compatible with other expansions dedicated to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
