Saints Row Description
Saints Row is the fifth main entry in the popular series of open-world action games known for absurd and grotesque humor. The game was developed by Volition Inc., and published by Deep Silver, the company in charge of the franchise.
Plot
Saints Row is a prequel to the entire series, while also being its soft reboot. The action was set before the events presented in the first part of the series. The game takes players to Santo Ileso in the south-west of the USA, where the eponymous Saints were born. The protagonist climbs the rungs of criminal career trying to build his own criminal empire together with such personalities as Neenah, Kevin and Eli. The task is not easy, as the entourage has to face numerous hostile gangs like Los Panteros, Idols or mercenaries from Marshall group.
Game mechanics
In Saints Row, the action is shown from third person perspective (TPP). The game begins with the creation of a character, whose gender, appearance and clothing you decide on your own. Next, we have no choice but to cast ourselves into the criminal underworld.
The game offers the largest and most diverse open world in the history of the series, which consists of a metropolis and surrounding areas, including a desert. We can travel through it on foot or using cars, motorcycles, planes, and helicopters, as well as hoverboards or VTOL flying machines. The gliding suit, which allows you to cover long distances in the air in an environmentally friendly (though not necessarily safe) way tops off the list of means of transportation.
The map is divided into a dozen districts, where you can have the option of setting up ventures. We can carry out orders for criminal businesses we have created (e.g., getting rid of radioactive fallout, stealing vehicles to order, forcing compensation) and earn unique rewards and large amounts of cash by doing so. We eliminate them using an extensive arsenal that includes melee weapons and firearms, as well as more exotic tools of destruction (e.g. a grenade launcher that shoots fireworks). The world map also gradually reveals stores and optional activities, such as loot searches in dumpsters, buggy races and bounty hunter assignments.
Game modes
Saints Row can be played solo or in co-op mode. Other players can join the game at any time. The single-player mode does not force solo gameplay - it is possible to summon AI-controlled companions for help, as well as subordinate members of the Saints grouping, who can facilitate battles and travel together with the controlled character.
Technical aspects
Saints Row features detailed graphics made in a characteristic cartoonish and slightly caricatured style. The authors took care of a highly diverse soundtrack with licensed music - you can choose from a variety of radio stations (rock, metal, pop, electronic music and other genres), between which you can freely switch while driving.

Fifth Saints Row Supposedly Drew Handfuls From SR2, but Publisher Wanted Something Different
It is possible that the failure of Saints Row could have been avoided. After all, it turns out that the game was originally intended to be a continuation of the series, not a reboot.
