Mafia II
Action
August 24, 2010
A sequel to the popular gangster game - the first Mafia was released in 2002. This new title was developed by the creators of the original game – also known for games like Hidden & Dangerous and Vietcong – working for the 2K Games company. The second part tells a completely new story; however, it contains multiple references to the previous title. The protagonist is a man named Vito Scaletta, who returns to his home city of Empire Bay after the end of Second World War; the city itself is a virtual creation heavily inspired by New York. Trying to find himself in a new, peaceful reality, Vito picks up jobs for the local criminal underground, gradually climbing up the mafia hierarchy. Apart from traditional shootouts with rival gangs, kidnappings, and getaways, there are lots of extra attractions, such as clothing stores and car customization options. A new game engine significantly improved the graphics and features like day and night cycle.

The Godfather
Action
March 21, 2006
An action game based on the novel by Mario Puzo and its movie adaptation by Francis Ford Coppola. You play as a thief, who makes his way into the world of the Corleone family. By doing various tasks for them, he climbs up the mafia career ladder and earns growing respect from other criminals. The game is set in New York, at the end of the 1940s and the beginning of the 1950s. The non-linear character of the gameplay allows you to choose the order of missions to complete as you wish. Like the Grand Theft Auto series, The Godfather features an open world, and the game is full of spectacular pursuits and shootouts, as the Corleone family has many enemies, e.g. Tattagalia, Cuneo or Stracci. The characters in the game are based on their movie counterparts, and are voiced by actors such as Marlon Brando, James Caan and Robert Duvall. The game features high-quality visuals and the music based on that from the movie.

A classic turn-based strategy game created by Wastelands Interactive, a Polish development studio. It tells of a fictional conflict between NATO and the no-longer-existing Warsaw Pact. 1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact takes us to the 50s, when Russian warmongering factions decided to take advantage of the state’s destabilization after the death of Joseph Stalin and wage war against the “corrupt West”. The action takes place in Europe and we assume control of land, air, and naval armies of the chosen side, although we might as well lead a custom coalition comprised of any number of nations from the list of more than 30 countries available. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files

December 15, 2017
A special edition of the detective game L.A. Noire created for virtual reality headsets. Unlike the original, which was developed by Team Bondi, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files was produced by a Rockstar Games’ subsidiary. In the game you visit Los Angeles of the year 1947. The game’s main protagonist is detective Cole Phelps, a World War II veteran, gradually climbing the steps of a career in the police force. In time, he is assigned more and more difficult cases – from road offenses to murders and drug trafficking. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files offers the same seven large cases known from the original game, but it introduces a slew of changes to gameplay mechanics. Gameplay is still based on obtaining material evidence, careful examination of objects related to the case, and interrogating suspects – all this is to help find the culprit and close the case in the right way. However, instead of the TPP view, used in the original L.A. Noire, the VR version uses first-person perspective.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode One
Action
November 12, 2013
The first official story expansion for BioShock: Infinite, created by Irrational Games. Burial at Sea - Episode One is a nod to the fans of the first two parts of the series, for it brings the players back to one of the alternative dimensions of the underwater metropolis known as Rapture. The player is put in the shoes of Booker DeWitt, a detective whose job, at Elizabeth's request, is to find a girl named Sally - a character from the actual BioShock: Infinite. When exploring the corners of the utopian metropolis before the rebellion and eventual collapse, the protagonist discovers that the ideal city is actually very far from being a paradise. Instead, it is home to many dark secrets. The gameplay remains unchanged and is largely based on fighting big groups of enemies in fast-paced fashion. In combat, the player can choose from a variety of firearms and supernatural powers that come with the plasmids.
