TheGamer: 3.5 / 5 by Stacey Henley
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has everything a Star Wars fan will want - it's an excellent story, and uses classic Star Wars tropes, musical cues, and narrative moments. But if you're not enamoured by a John Williams horn reprise, what you have is a decent adventure game with a vibrant but often annoying open world that you keep being sent back to, that rarely lets you think for yourself and often just doesn't quite work properly. For a story so sharp, it's a shame the game gets in its own way so often.
IGN: 9 / 10 by Dan Stapleton
If Respawn makes a third game like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Fallen Order, it'll complete the best Star Wars trilogy in 30 years, hands down.
VG247: 4 / 5 by Connor Makar
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a step up from its predecessor and brilliant fun, as long as you don’t let that collectible-obssessed plunderer take hold of you. It is not a narrative masterpiece, nor is it the most engaging action game in the world. But it does nothing badly, and excels where it matters. It represents the Star Wars universe accurately and places emphasis on the aspects of it that keep even jaded Andor-lovers like me interested in the IP, even after all this time. An obvious recommendation to Star Wars fans, and a hearty thumbs up to anyone else that may be even remotely interested.
The main pros of the game
- Engaging Story: Many users praised the narrative for being well-written and emotionally resonant, continuing the story of Cal Kestis effectively.
- Improved Combat Mechanics: The lightsaber combat was highlighted as a significant improvement over the predecessor, with new stances and fluid movement.
- Visuals and Graphics: The game is noted for its impressive graphics and design, contributing to an immersive experience.
- Exploration Elements: The open-world aspects and the central hub for exploration were generally well-received, with players enjoying the freedom to explore.
- Character Development: Players appreciated the depth of character development, particularly for Cal and other characters introduced in the game.
- Denuvo Removal: The removal of Denuvo was seen as a positive change, potentially improving performance.
The main cons of the game
- Technical Issues: A significant number of reviews cited severe performance issues, including crashes, lag spikes, stuttering, and frame rate drops, even on high-end systems.
- Poor Optimization: Users expressed frustration with the game's optimization, stating that it ran poorly on various setups, often not meeting the recommended specs.
- Repetitive Gameplay Elements: Some players found the need to revisit the same areas excessively and the repetitive nature of certain quests to be a drawback.
- Complex Controls: Several reviews mentioned that the control scheme could be overly complicated, making combat less enjoyable for some players.
- EA Launcher Requirement: The necessity to use the EA launcher was frequently criticized, with users noting it caused additional performance issues.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Better Optimization: Many players felt that, despite patches, the game still lacked proper optimization for PC, making it unplayable for some.
- Improved Level Design: Some users wished for more organic and less labyrinthine level designs, expressing a desire for a more streamlined exploration experience.
- More Robust RPG Elements: A few players commented on the RPG mechanics being rudimentary and wanting a more developed leveling system.
- Save System Improvements: Users expressed a desire for a more forgiving save system, as some experienced frustrating soft locks and had to redo significant portions of the game.
- Less Environmental Puzzle Solving: Some players found the environmental puzzles to be tedious and wished for a more straightforward approach to progression.
Summary
- Overall, while STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor? has garnered praise for its story, combat, and visuals, the persistent technical issues and optimization problems have significantly impacted the user experience, leading to mixed reviews.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Description
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the second installment in a series of action adventure games with RPG elements originating from 2019, set in the Star Wars universe. The sequel was once again developed by Respawn Entertainment, who have long since won over the franchise's fans.
Plot
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The main protagonist is, once again, Cal Kestis, one of the last surviving Jedi in the galaxy. He is, thus, constantly on the run from the Galactic Empire. Fortunately, he's not alone, as he makes numerous friends along the way and is accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1.
Mechanics
The gameplay of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is shown from the third-person perspective (TPP). The player must complete quests taking place on various planets. Each is home to plenty of enemies to fight against. Cal wields a lightsaber and can chain different moves (the list of which has been greatly expanded) into deadly combos. He's also adept at using the Force, both during combat and exploration, which lets him run on walls or jump farther away. Progressing through the game lets us develop Kestis, granting him new skills and upgrading already owned ones. His lightsaber can be upgraded alongside him as well.
Technical aspects
The visuals of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are very impressive. Aside from the upgraded character models and more detailed locations, the game also features improved animations and ray tracing support.
