- Standalone Launch: Many players wish for a version of the game that does not require a web browser or third-party applications to launch, as the reliance on Battlelog and the EA app is seen as outdated and cumbersome.
- Coherent Narrative: Some reviews mention that the campaign's story lacks coherence and originality, drawing comparisons to other shooters like Call of Duty, and suggest that a more compelling narrative would enhance the experience.
Summary
- Overall, while Battlefield 3? is celebrated for its campaign, graphics, and nostalgic value, it faces significant criticism regarding technical stability, multiplayer viability, and the cumbersome launch process dictated by EA's systems.

Battlefield 3 Description
Battlefield 3 for PC, X360 and PS3 is the third installment of one of the most famous multiplayer war shooter. The game was created by the authors of the franchise, Swedish EA DICE Studios, known for many successful titles - from classic Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies, through Mirror's Edge, to Battlefield spin-offs, namely Bad Company sub-series.
Story and Game modes
The third installment of Battlefield consists of both solo campaign and an expansive multiplayer mode. When playing alone, you can participate in many dynamic and varied missions, which take you to the United States (New York), Europe (Paris), and even the Middle East (Tehran, Kurdistan). During the military operations, there are both peaceful sequences as well as shocking events – you can even eye-witness a terrible earthquake. As far as individual missions are concerned, very often you fight alongside other soldiers and make use of advanced military equipment.
Online battles in Battlefield 3 are played out in similar sceneries as a solo campaign missions and are based on the four class system: Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon. Each character plays an important role in combat and has a specific role. Assault fights at close range, and also serves as a medic. Support provides fire support using a light machinegun and can share ammunition with his team mates. Engineer destroys enemy vehicles and repairs friendly ones. Recon keeps low profile and eliminates enemies over a distance with a sniper rifle. He is also equipped with useful gadgets, including mobile respawn point, invisible on the enemy minimap. The game could not miss out huge plots of lands and various vehicles – you may use helicopters, warplanes, tanks, and armored personnel carriers. Up to 64 players can fight a single battle. For the diehard fans of Battlefield 2 a package of additional content was prepared, which contains refreshed versions of the iconic maps with characteristic vehicles and weapons (the extension is not included in the basic version of the game).
Other information
The third Battlefield to some extent goes back to the roots of the series and at the same time the gameplay is expanded. As a result, soldiers can not only crouch, but also take prone position and set a gun on a tripod. There was also implemented a popular killcam system (you can see your killer). The developers did not forget about support for dedicated servers, which was left out in several other well-known titles released in 2009-2010 (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2).
Technology
Battlefield 3 runs on Frostbite 2.0 engine, EA DICE proprietary technology, that generates huge battlefields, modern lighting effects, amazing character animations (created using ANT system developed by EA Sports), enjoyable driving model, and the famous destruction system. Specially for the game new audio effects were prepared – in order to increase the realism, the sounds were recorded from various distances. The game uses DirectX 11, so it is not compatible with older operating systems (Windows XP).
