Offering a contract seems to be a simple process, but in fact there are many factors that influence the decision whether you can afford a specific player. First and most important factor is the transfer fee that you must pay to another club for a player. But it is not only a one-time fee, but optional, additional fees as well:

• Monthly installments - you pay every month, the transfer cost is slightly bigger than in case of a single payment;
• Per league appearance - additional fee for a specific amount of league appearances;
• After league appearance - after a certain number of appearances in a league, the club will get a fee;
• Per national team appearance - additional fee for a specific amount of national team appearances;
• Minimum league goals - additional fee for scoring a specific amount of goals;
• After promotion - a fee paid in case of team promotion
• Players to exchange - you can lower the transfer fee by giving one of your players to other club

Additional clauses might come in handy as well:

• Loan back length - after buying a player you can immediately send him back to his previous club, where he will continue to develop his abilities. A good option if you currently don't have a place for him in your squad;
• Percentage of profit from next sale - you can offer a specific percentage of profit from the next transfer of a player.
• Percentage of next sale - percentage from the general value of transfer, including provision for agent;
• Buy back price - price for which the player can return to his previous club;
• Arrange friendly - there is a possibility to plan a friendly match, which will generate a profit for both teams and can be a good opportunity to prepare for the season.

Effectiveness of an offer can depend on time limit for completion as well - especially in case of players that are vital for the team, the bosses will be more eager to accept an offer which realization is due to be done at the end of their country's season. After making a transfer offer all you have left to do is to wait for a response.
