Empire of Sin: Diplomacy - relations, wars Empire of Sin guide, tips
Last update: 28 January 2021
On this page of the guide to Empire of Sin, you will find information on diplomacy. You'll learn about gang relations and gang wars.
Diplomacy panel
You can access the diplomacy panel from the top left corner of the screen. This is where you will be able to check your relations with other gangs. There you will find 4 different tabs -the first one containing a comparison of your allies, the third recording history of a particular boss's actions, the fourth showing general stats of each faction.
However, the most important bookmark is the second one. It is in it that you will find all the diplomatic options associated with a given boss. On the left, you will see detailed information about them. There you will find info about his cash holdings, alcohol reserves, and rackets they own. Pay special attention to the two indicators presented here:
- faction rating - determines your relationship with the gang. This number may deviate between -500 to 500 points. The higher the value, the better your relations with that group;
- honor - defines your credibility. The higher the index, the more trusted you are.
On the right side, you will find the gang interaction panel. Here you will find various information divided into 4 categories:
- action [1] - allows you to trade with a given boss, declare war on him or break business arrangements;
- discus [2] - this section lets you ask for, or provide protection, enter business arrangements, or offer tribute to improve relationships;
- sitdown [3] - allows you to schedule a meeting with the boss at a specific location;
- favors [4] - allows you to ask the gang for a specific item, e.g. alcohol or money.
Gang wars
When the interests of both gangs are at odds, one of them can declare war. Importantly, the parties can ask another group to join the fight. By doing this, they gain additional support. Of course, those invited to fight do not have to agree - the chance of a refusal grows when the mob thinks less of you. If you're the party that's getting an invitation, you need to consider the potential profit and loss balance.
You can also declare war on a particular group. You can do this from the gang menu.
When you join a gang war, a progress bar will appear on the right side of the screen. You will see there a portrait of your rival and the distribution of forces (you are marked in green). Every racket you take tips the balance in your favor. The war can end in two ways - either when a mob boss is killed or once a truce is established.
In the case of the latter option, a special meeting should be convened at a specific place. That's where you'll negotiate the terms of peace. Keep in mind that the losing side is always the one that calls the meeting (if it's you, you can do it from the gang menu) and it's their boss that has to pay compensation.
