What's Monster Hunter: Rise?
The next installment of the simulator series about hunting some of the biggest monsters in video games. This time, it releases on the Nintendo Switch, but we already know that next year, Monster Hunter: Rise will also hit the PC. This is great news, because so far, only Monster Hunter: World was available on computers. As you can see, the warm reception of the game on this platform was enough for Capcom to bring the new installment of the series here as well. There's a lot to be excited about, as Monster Hunter: Rise is set to be a blast!
What's new?
How will Monster Hunter: Rise differ from other representatives of the series? The developers are expanding the online aspect of the game, with even more emphasis on co-op gameplay. We'll get multiplayer rallies, and the open-world formula is further polished (no loading screens!). Conservative fans of the series won't be happy that this part expands the "clutch claw" tool even more, and there will be far less grind. However, there will be doggies available as mounts! There will also be some changes of the monsters, this time inspired by Japanese mythology.
Subverse
Release Date: March 26, 2021
INFORMATION
- Genre: action
- Platform: PC
- Approximate price: TBA
What is Subverse?
Subverse is an intriguing project that has successfully completed its campaign on Kickstarter. The creators managed to raise over 2 million dollars. What were we promised? A genre mix, combining shooter and strategy, spiced with erotic elements. We play the captain of an Earth starship that has fallen into a black hole and ejected into the undiscovered Prodigium galaxy, full of alien races. The realm is ruled by some sinister empire that hates everything that has anything to do with procreation. So, our task will be to lead a revolution!
NSFW!
Some players refer to Subverse as even hornier Mass Effect. It's sort of a joke, but are there's some truth to it. The creators are completely open about what their game is. We'll get to explore the cosmos and participate in stellar, heavily arcade-style combat. We'll also manage our crew and participate in turn-based battles, inspired by XCOM series. There will also be RPG elements and sex scenes with recruited warriors. This is supposedly an important part of Subverse! The characters come with their own stories, loyalty missions, and requirements, the fulfillment of which will grant access to even more sex scenes, as well as, incidentally, increase the range of their combat abilities and prowess.
Evil Genius 2
Release Date: March 30, 2021
INFORMATION
- Genre: strategy
- Platform: PC
- Estimated price: approx. $40
What is Evil Genius 2?
I don't think anyone expected the continuation of the 2004 strategy. Yes, you read that right, Evil Genius 2 is a new installment of a vintage hit that was quite popular among fans of such unusual concepts back in the day. Once again, we will play the role of the eponymous evil genius, making sinister plans to take over the world. Our task will not be easy, for we must complete the Doomsday Machine before the forces of justice get in our way. It sounds great!
Is Evil Genius 2 worth checking out?
Unfortunately, building the Judgment Day machine will have to wait. This is because we need the right materials, money and influence to be effective. So, we shall burn down Alaska just for the publicity... Wait, is this an oil company simulator?! In the meantime, we'll expand the hideout and take part in skirmishes with the justice forces, which will keep attacking for some reason. If you like Dungeon Keeper-style fun, Evil Genius 2 should be right up your alley.
Kingdom Hearts on PC
Release Date: March 30, 2021
INFORMATION
- Genre: RPG
- Platform: PC
- Estimated price: approx. $40
What is Kingdom Hearts?
This is a series with one of the most convoluted and twisted stories. At the same time, it's Square Enix's romance with Disney that you either love from the first moments or hate just as quickly. Kingdom Hearts has been a console exclusive until now, but it's heading to PC in March. Not everyone will be happy about this, as the series will only appear on the Epic Games Store, and in expensive bundles at that.
Is it worth giving Kingdom Hearts a chance?
At the end of March, Epic Games Store will offer various bundles with different parts of Kingdom Hearts: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III with Re: Mind expansion, and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. That's quite a choice! Each one tells a crazy story, in addition to offering some pretty fun RPG elements and combat that surprisingly isn't turn-based. There will also be arcade elements and puzzle solving. The exception to this is Melody of Memory, which is a rhythmic game spin-off.
