Lost Judgment, SEGA, 2021 - The Best Games You Will Play on PS5 - Editor's Choice - Documentary - 2022-11-05
Lost Judgment, SEGA, 2021
  1. Genre: action game with elements of RPG and beat'em up
  2. Play if: you love complex scenarios presented in a cinematic way, you have always wanted to visit Japan or you just like beating up local thugs
  3. Do not play if: you're not into long, cinematic exposure
  4. Similar games: Yakuza series
  5. Average rating on Metacritic: 82

The creators of Yakuza have already proved their prowess in legal-themed adventures and are able to use the iconic core of the game to tell slightly different stories. Takayuki Yagami returns once again, and this time he becomes embroiled in an extremely complicated plot that provokes reflection on the inner workings of the justice system.

Lost Judgment is mainly based on a designed plot. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio again shows off its cinematographic artistry and provides a movie-worthy script, this time touching on the important subject of school bullying. It's a real mix of genres, combining drama, comedy, and even a political thriller about the twilight zone of the blind pursuit of justice. This story is followed with bated breath and it's difficult to tear yourself away from the screen.

Meanwhile, the plot is only one of this game's major advantages. Lost Judgment is a massive game with tons of extra content in the form of side stories, sidequests, and countless mini-games. There's billiard, darts, drone racing, dance school, skateboarding and much, much more. During a break from exploring the chapters of the story, you can spend up to several hours playing doing side activities alone.

Another thing that might steal your heart is the engaging and quite complex combat system. In Lost Judgment, you will encounter many exciting fights. The boss battles are an amazing experience and a real spectacle that could make Michael Bay blush with envy.
