If you fondly remember your school years and were a fan of typical American teen movies, most of which take place in college, this add-on will be a great throwback to the past. I also recommend it to anyone still taking classes, regardless of whether it's in high school or not. Once the main theme of the expansion is known, it's time to delve into the specifics.
Everything starts with creating a teenage sim. The character creator features many new clothes in a variety of styles. Fashion is very important for young people. The same as a hairstyle. Among the novelties, there were also new features and aspirations. A typical teenager can be the life of the party and care about being admired by others. After creating a character, the expansion takes us to Copperdale, a new location situated as a small town by the river. Sounds boring? It's not that bad. In the new palece you can, among other things, have fun in the amusement park or go shopping at a second-hand store. Stylizations are created there, which can then be sold through a new app on a virtual smartphone. However, the most important place on the map is, of course, the high school itself.
Participating in lessons is an essential part of this type of extension. Lessons are separated by a meal break. Just sitting in class isn't very exciting. Much more interesting are the extracurricular activities, including American football games and the cheerleading club. After returning from school, you can pursue a career as an influencer or streamer. Those who have seen college movies know that the expansion also couldn't do without proms and the selection of the king and queen of the party. The education concludes with a diploma presentation ceremony.
THIS ISN'T EVERYTHING
High School Years isn't the only expansion that appeared in 2022. Of the better ones, we must mention Werewolves - other creatures, after vampires, have joined the game. Despite a not-very-successful start (bugs), the biggest fans will probably also be tempted by My Wedding Stories.
The expansion introduced unexpected and unwanted new features to the gameplay. On the premiere day, High School Years had a whole bunch of smaller or larger bugs. Fortunately, not long after the release, patches started to emerge that fixed the most game-spoiling errors. There's nothing to worry about anymore today.
