Do you want to play Farmville, Stardew Valley, or Farming Simulator, but you don't have time because you're constantly playing The Sims 4? If the answer is yes, achieve two goals at once by bringing a countryside atmosphere into Maxis' project. You just need the extension Cottage Living. However, don't expect lazy afternoons under the apple tree. Oh no, nothing of the sort. Running a farm is hard, but satisfying work. Don't worry, there will also be time for the relax.

The rural location of Henford-on-Bagley, stylized as an English village with 12 plots and 3 neighborhoods, allows you to set up a home garden where you can grow vegetables. These vegetables can later be used to prepare a nutritious and tasty dinner. However, digging around in the garden beds can be skipped. You can buy food products at a rural market. If you prefer not to spend money, you can opt for food made from the treasures of the forest.

At the moment when animal products don't prick your sims' teeth, a good idea will be to engage in breeding cows, chickens, or... llamas - they appeared for the first time in the series! Cows give flavored milk, chickens eggs, and llamas wool in a color dependent on what treat they eat. There are, of course, more animals. Cottage Living adds rabbits, foxes, and wild birds. It's possible to develop a friendly relationship with monks and use some of them for menial work in the garden. There could also not be a lack of animal "houses." Sheds, chicken coops, and rabbit burrows are available.

TAKE CARE OF ANIMALS!

Animals, just like sims, have their own needs. If you want to breed cows and/or llamas, you need to remember to give them enough attention, keep them and their living space clean, build relationships, and feed them. Hay alone isn't enough; from time to time, it's worth giving our animals their favorite treats.

As it often happens in the countryside, even rest there is active. During your free time from watering the cabbage or feeding the chickens, you can engage in embroidery, go for a picnic, or spend time in a pub - all of which can be found in a nearby town. In addition to new activities, the DLC adds new features to the game (animal lover, lactose intolerant), aspirations (rural caretaker), and a hanky-panky in a barn. How romantic.
