Wreckfest

  1. Year of release: 2018
  2. Developer: Bugbear Entertainment
  3. Platforms: PC Windows, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS
  4. Game characteristic: rusty wrecks on short cross tracks

Wreckfest is a completely different type of racing game. What matters in this game isn't speed, but rather good technique and aggression. The game's essence lies in the spectacular crashes and pushing aside other opponents - what matters is the ruthless battle for victory, and in the pimped out wrecks, no one worries about scratches on the bodywork or broken headlights.

Wreckfest is the spiritual heir to the FlatOut series and, to some extent, the old Destruction Derby. It's important to be cautious and avoid sustaining too much damage to the vehicle's hood, as the developers have accurately depicted the physics of collisions and the vehicle's behavior after being damaged. And as a dessert, there are also lawnmower races and traditional car upgrades in your garage. Furthermore, the game has been actively supported for a very long time and received, among other things, expansions related to the classic - Carmageddon.

Three biggest pros:

  1. chill atmosphere of total demolition;
  2. impressive physics of destruction;
  3. many unique ideas, like for instance, lawnmower races.
