- What went wrong: Locations and missions were boring and repetitive
In 2006, The Godfather video game was released. The warm reception of the virtual adaptation of the story of the most famous crime family warranted a sequel, which was released three years later. And while some of the flaws of the original have been forgiven, players were much more reluctant to turn a blind eye on the mistakes made in the sequel. The game sold so poorly that any chances of a follow-up seem to be buried till this day.
If you want to find out what the second Godfather was, check out the definition of "boring." Both the fictional missions, and the available locations were simply boring. What's more, the developers didn't improve on anything since the first game (even in terms of graphics). A good storyline and well-known and well-liked characters did not help. The Godfather was simply buried by the pervasive boredom and monotony. It's a shame because this franchise deserved better.
