Finding Paradise. Obscure sci-fi games you may not have heard of

Finding Paradise

  1. Genre: Adventure
  2. Release year: 2017
  3. The best thing about it: unconventional gameplay and twists

To The Moon became one of the biggest hits of the fledgling independent computer game scene in 2011. The story of two scientists traveling through the memories of a dying old man and trying to fix them so that before his death, he could symbolically fulfill his greatest dream, was honestly touching. In addition, it surprised with a sensational plot twist and soothed the senses with, perhaps very simple, but at the same time quite charming audiovisual setting.

Finding Paradise was released on PC at the end of 2017. In the meantime, the very short A Bird Story had its premiere – a kind of prequel to… the sequel. However, knowing that game is not necessary to have fun during your adventure in Finding Paradise. The game did not manage to repeat the success of To The Moon (and therefore earned a place in this ranking), but it is still one of the best adventure indie games of the last decade.

The mechanics of Finding Paradise have been diversified with several collectibles, thanks to which the player can (but doesn't have to!) Enrich the story with additional dialogue lines. The most important thing here, however, is the story itself. Colin, because that's the name of the protagonist of this part of the series, is not a copy of its predecessor. And the plot twist will surprise you even more than the one from To The Moon.
