Some time ago, titles such as Dishonored 1 and 2 or Prey established Arkane studio as creators of high quality action games with intriguing storylines and interesting gameplay mechanics with a lot of freedom. It's no different with the latest work of these developers – Deathloop. The story of the main character trapped in a time loop and reliving his Groundhog Day, experiencing his own life over and over again draws you in from the very beginning, which is aided by well-written dialogues and memorable characters.

As befits an Arkane game, how we complete tasks is entirely up to us. The gameplay includes taking care of things quietly or going into action with full clips and a rich arsenal. The character also has special powers that both support a particular style of gameplay and make it more spectacular. Despite backtracking and experiencing the same day over and over again, the developers efficiently managed to avoid a sense of repetition and adjust certain roguelike elements to avoid frustration. This is certainly one of the best games of the year.
