What is Days Gone?
A PlayStation 4 exclusive coming to PC in May. Days Gone is a game that evoked a mixed reception. It's basically just a good game that doesn't boast any exceptional ideas, but still provides plenty of entertainment. So, if feel like escaping a horde of the living dead on a motorcycle, you won't find a more atmospheric production than that.
What to expect from Days Gone?
Days Gone shows the world after a global pandemic of a virus that zombified most people. We direct an ex-member of a motorcycle gang who tries to survive in unfavorable circumstances. We will have to fight not only strange creatures, but also with other people – you won't be saving the world, looking for a cure for the plague, or a sick daughter. Instead, it's about simple survival. While the theme of the virus turning people into monsters is rather cliché, the opportunity to play someone other than the savior of humanity is a nice change.
Biomutant
Release Date: May 25, 2021
INFORMATION
Genre: RPG
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Estimated price: approx. $60 (PC, PS4, XOne)
What is Biomutant?
It's a new IP from Experiment 101, whose members have worked on hits like Just Cause or Mad Max. This time they have prepared a full-blown sci-fi action RPG. We will take the role of a man-shaped animal, trying to save the world from destruction. The task will not be easy, and the decisions we make will affect the story and the finale of the game – it's up to us whether everything will end in a happy ending or not.
What makes Biomutant worth it?
The first thing that catches the eye in Biomutant is a greaet character wizard, allowing you to create an original creature. Within the game, we will not direct any typical race, but a humanoid animal. We will select a mutation that will affect the initial statistics and, in a way, determine the class of the character. Then we will be thrown into the middle of action and a story full of twists and dynamic combat, during which we will have to display good reflexes. There will also be the development of our protagonist and quite an extensive crafting.
Land of War – The Beginning
Release Date: May 27, 2021
INFORMATION
Genre: action
Platform: PC
Approximate price: TBD
What's Land of War – The Beginning?
The Warsaw-based studio MS Games has prepared a shooter set in Poland in the years 1939-1944. In Land of War – The Beginning we play one Piotr Kowalski, a soldier fighting during the Nazi invasion of Poland. We will participate in historical events, taking part in covert operations, and diversionary actions.
What makes Land of War – The Beginning worth it?
Polish Land of War – The Beginning will be a different war shooter than Call of Duty or Battlefield, which also took us to the realities of World War 2 at some point, but mostly focusing on later stages of the war. As Piotr Kowalski, we will take part in a story campaign that will lead us through the hardships of war, showing it not only from the perspective of a soldier fighting at the front, but also in less spectacular ways.
Our expectations
My reaction to Land of War is one of nostalgia and a sardonic smile. This game harkens back to some really obscure war games from early Polish gamedev, such as Terrorist Takedown, Wolfschanze or World War 2 Sniper.
Yes, yes, I know. I shouldn't jab at patriotic games making the respectable effort to reconstruct the history in digital form. I quite applaud that intention. Unfortunately, I can't ward off the persistent feeling that MS Games got the measurement wrong when they weighted ambition and ability. The developers must have missed the fact that small developers no longer venture into realistic, story-driven shooters full of scripted sequences these days – and for good reason... Nevertheless, I'm curious to see what kind of creation Land of War will eventually turn. I look forward to receiving a copy for review.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground
Release Date: May 27, 2021
INFORMATION
Genre: strategy
Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne, Switch
Estimated price: approx. $34 (PC), approx. $40 (PS4, Xone, Switch)
What's Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground?
There is no shortage of strategies in the Warhammer universe, but it's time for another one anyway – Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground. This time we will get a turn-based strategy, in which we will become a commander of one of the factions, and lead it to victory. The action will be set in Storm Ground – a land of legends, heroes, hellish entities and dangerous battles.
What makes Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground worth it?
The developers point out that while Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground will offer several factions with their own unique armies, the player is supposed to have a huge amount of leeway in configuring their army. Additionally, battles, despite turn-based nature, will be dynamic in their own way, though based on tactical aspects. Victories will allow us to collect equipment for our leader, unlock skills, and collect and upgrade our units. The campaign will be non-linear and multiplayer will provide 1v1 skirmishes.
