Dark Horses of 2022 - Best Upcoming Obscure Games That May Surprise Us
Every year brings productions whose success is prophesied long before their release. But in this article, we talk about their opposites. What gaming surprises await in 2022?
Table of Contents
The gaming market is growing year by year, offering more and more unique experiences. Indie games are gaining momentum, often presenting an unusual approach to virtual entertainment. Recent years have also brought a renewed increase in the importance of medium-budget games, which can often surprise you.
The list below is devoted to productions that likely will not be in the spotlight next year. However, it doesn't mean that they are not worth your time and money. On the contrary – we anticipate that some of these games will turn out to be the black horses of 2022 and that they will amaze many players with their quality.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Genre: action adventure game
- Release date: 2022
- Developer: Massive Entertainment
- Why it can surprise? The Avatar franchise has great potential, and the developers have a lot of experience
We open the list with a bang – a production created by Massive Entertainment studio and published by Ubisoft. The new Avatar game has a chance to become a quiet hit in 2022, although few people expect great things from this production. The previous game from the brand was surprisingly good (for a licensed production), but after many years, few people even remember it. Will it be different this time?
We suspect so. Although at the moment we know little about the game itself and most of our predictions are simply based on the developer's rep. The Swedes gave us games such as the RTS called World in Conflict and two installments of The Division. These are perhaps not some of the best games of all time, but they all enjoyed popularity and good reviews. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will run on the latest version of the Snowdrop engine, which will translate into stunning visuals, hopefully matched by gameplay. We will have fun in an open world that we will observe from first-person perspective.
