LEGO City: Undercover. Best games for kids – have fun and learn!
Table of Contents
Genre: action-adventure platformer
Target audience: a determined ten-year-old child should have no problems with both solving logic puzzles and following the plot – especially an older LEGO fan
So far, no one has invented a toy that would develop imagination, creativity, and other qualities and skills relevant in adult life in a more accessible way than LEGO. The Danish bricks are popular all over the world not only with children, but also with adults – who have equally big fun with them. As we're in times of peak video game development, it's no wonder the phenomenon of LEGO has been brought to video games.
Perhaps the best example here is LEGO City: Undercover, from Traveller's Tales studio. Many aspects of this production deserve being discussed in detail. We have everything that LEGO fans wish they could build, but they'd never have enough bricks for it – a spacious and vibrant world, customizable characters, and a lot of vehicles moving through the streets (you can drive them).
Add to that a variety of missions based on environmental puzzles and an exciting story – in the game, you play as a police officer fighting crime. The game by Traveller's Tales is full of humor and funny cut-scenes. In this, it's similar to good Disney or Dreamworks' movies: the satire is also very appealing to adults. And here, perhaps, lies the secret of this series – because of the simple graphics that ages really well, they are as timeless as the bricks themselves. And at the same time, they unite generations.
So, who is this game for? Kids ten or older should have no problem with this game, provided it's not their first exposure to open-world games.
