IMMORTALITY

IMMORTALITY

  1. Year of release: 2022
  2. Creator: Sam Barlow
  3. Story in a nutshell: What an evening, what a night, with the face of Marilyn Monroe

Sam Barlow, from the moment he took the path of an independent game developer, started pursuing narratively unique productions. He debuted with Her Story, a surprisingly experimental game consisting in searching for fragments of recordings by entering key phrases that were heard during the interrogations we watched. Then we got a derivative Telling Lies, which largely used the same idea. This title, it seems, has gone unnoticed. Last year, however, he managed to regain some ground, releasing the captivating Immortality again.

This is the mysterious story of a fictional model who turned actress. The woman appeared in three movies in 1968, 1970 and 1999. Fate would have it that none of them were released, and the star itself disappeared in unexplained circumstances. The player's goal is to solve this riddle using materials from these games. Subsequent layers of intrigue are gradually revealed thanks to the player's analysis and deduction, as we're trying to make sense of the chaotic threads, putting them together into a coherent whole.
