Things you shouldn't do in Drakensang Online | Starting Tips Drakensang Online

Some of your actions can have unforeseen consequences. The list below will tell you what to avoid in Drakensang Online:

  1. Do not choose a PvP server if this is your first character. Once you've logged in the game, you can choose the server - aside from the region and the amount of players, check if the given server is a PvP (Player vs Player) or a PvE (Player vs Environment) server. Choosing a PvP server means that you can be attacked by another player at any given time, which isn't a very useful mechanic when this is your first contact with the game. A PvE server protects you against such attacks, and if you ever feel the need to test your character against a living opponent, you can simply join a PvP arena (press "J" to open the corresponding window).
  2. Save your Andermants - do not spend them thoughtlessly. Andermants are the basic currency in Drakensang Online (more on currencies can be found in "In-game currencies") - you can use them to buy many items and upgrades, but the amount of coins will be limited at the beginning of the game. Save them, and spend the first larger sum on additional inventory space. 1600 Andermants equal seven inventory spaces, enabling you to pick-up more items, which leads to more convenient gameplay and additional money. You can increase the size of your inventory by clicking on a blue plus found inside the inventory menu.
  3. Do not sell magical items. During your travels you will find numerous enchanted items that are recognized by their color (e.g. green or blue). Such items offer special bonuses in form of additional health, higher damage, or faster attack speed. It is better to melt such items at a blacksmith or an armor artisan ("melt down") in order to gain Glyphs of Power (their amount depends on the power of the melted item) - you can use such glyphs to upgrade other items (possible when standing near blacksmith or an armor artisan).
