Your created character (more info can be found in "character classes") will be taken to the Fortress of the Alliance, a starting location, which will introduce you to the story and show you the basic mechanics of the game. The whole section is linear and will lead you step by step to your objectives - you'll defeat a group of monsters and conduct dialogue with a few characters.

Soon you'll find yourself in Ruins of the First Cycle - your first major location. You'll receive the following tasks:

  1. Collect 8 pieces of wood from the Pilgrim Oak;
  2. Find 5 Enchanted Blue Steel;
  3. Find the Opening Spell.

The Pilgrim Oak wood pieces are looted from monsters in the form of blue chests, while Enchanted Blue Steel is looted from Old Vases (planted all over the area). The Opening Spell will be found during exploration of the location. Remember to search the whole area thoroughly, even when you've got all the items needed for the completion of the mission - you'll find some additional experience and gold.

Once the mission is complete, you'll be sent to Grimmagstone - a dungeon area filled with monsters. Fortunately, you'll receive a companion - Vithrandir, a mage. The section is linear, so simply continue forward and destroy the encountered opponents. You'll also encounter your first major opponent, but you shouldn't have any problems beating him - his body will yield an Enchanted Item, a piece of equipment endowed with additional powers such as an armor upgrade or increased damage. Such items are marked with a question mark - you need to check them with the right mouse button in order to equip them. The next section is very similar to the previous one, with a single exception - there is a boss encounter at the end of the area (Grimmag). Nevertheless, the fight is simple, and will yield extra experience.

Grimford

You've made it to Grimford. Here you'll encounter first NPCs (you can trade with them or receive missions) and other players. Start by visiting one of the vendors (listed below) to clear your inventory of unnecessary items. Your inventory should be half filled with various items - selling them would yield a major cash boost.

The list of NPCs found in Grimford:

  1. Blacksmith - sells weapons and repairs them, as well as upgrades and smelts items.
  2. Artifact Merchant - sells artifacts.
  3. Essence Merchant - sells essences that temporarily increase your battle capabilities.
  4. Alchemist - sells potions.
  5. Priest of the Order - sells items that temporarily increase some of your statistics.

Look at the minimap and make your way to the marked exclamation marks. An exclamation mark means that the given NPC has a quest for you. Activate all the missions - these will lead you to Swerdfield Pasture, a major location that will take some time to clear. Pick-up all the quests and search through every corner of the map to score large amounts of experience, gold, dark coins, and equipment.

During your stay on Swerdfield Pasture, you can visit Small Dungeon. It's a small location with a boss encounter at the end of it. The boss deals quite a lot of damage but a level 7 hero shouldn't have any problems defeating him. The boss drops a lot of equipment and lockpicks that can be used to open magical chests which lie nearby. These chests contain valuable items and will give you a chance to find a lot of andermants. Small Dungeon is the first place that can be "farmed", which means to constantly revisit the mentioned location to loot additional items and gold. Simply return to the location after you leave it - all monsters will respawn, enabling you to defeat them again in order to receive new items and gold

Completing all tasks from Grimford should net you the experience needed to reach level 8 (through completing missions and killing monsters that you've encountered once and without replaying any of the sections). One of the missions will take you to a new city.

Kingshill

Kingshill is a large town where you'll encounter numerous NPCs and players and receive a lot of quests. The amount of vailable services and vendors is much bigger than in Grimford.

The list of vendors and services in Kingshill:

  1. Armor Artisan - sells weaponry and repairs it, as well as upgrades and smelts items.
  2. Workbench - here you can create new items.
  3. Curious Merchant - this person enables you to use Gilded Clovers as currency and use them to buy legendary equipment, runes, or costumes.
  4. Jester - you can take part in a lottery that sees you bet a certain amount of gold or andermants - you can either win additional money and items or lose everything that you've bet.
  5. Alchemist - sells potions.
  6. Essence Merchant - sells essences which temporarily increase your battle capabilities.
  7. Merchant - sells food that temporarily increase some of your attributes.
  8. Artifact Merchant - sells artifacts.
  9. Purveyor to the Royal Court - sells mounts, equipment, and item blueprints. Only for Premium users.

You should be acquainted with the basic mechanics of the game by the time you've arrived to Kingshill. We recommend paying a visit to the Questions and Answers section before you proceed further.
