Description (in author’s own words):
S . H . A . D . O . W . S . heavily modified L . U . R . K 1 . 1, and furthermore incorporating as many L . U . R . K 1 . 2 concepts as possible on the classic, original Shadow of Chernobyl engine. Aims to be regarded as the best S . T . A . L . K . E . R . experience of all time in keeping all elements of atmosphere completely intact
34th Anniversary of the April 26th, 1 9 8 6 Chernobyl Disaster and yesterdays events conclude that 2 O 2 O is open to the public. For better or for worse, it was not without troubling implication. Taking a quick look at the community will tell you it is fragmented at best, and this will just add yet another creation to the never ending cyclone of expanding content. This is in contrast to how many different ways there is to experience what is basically the exact same thing albeit with variation ranging from massive to negligible. This is only the tip of the spear now that we have new engines, new graphical perspectives, a better look at the old builds and finally work people are doing with new content. After several years in development, it was finally time to show everyone what exactly had been working this entire time and just needed to be put into action.
Alongside keeping up with everything else as much as possible it was a lot of hard work and foolish dedication. Why this is relevant is because there was never a simple way to tell someone how to experience what was intended. Ask several people this question, you are going to get several different responses.
This is the same reason why S . T . A . L . K . E . R . : C O M P L E T E ( A K A ) Z R P 1 . O 5 with work by artist pavel and his team was ever recommended as the go to way for newcomers instead of just biting the bullet and playing as G S C intended on a normal installation. Why L . U . R . K . 1 . 1 / 1 . 2 was left the way it was. Or also the same reason why some people won't play anything, but their creation which typically is some variation of O B L I V I O N L O S T 2 . 1 a n d R M A ( A K A ) English A M K + A R S E N A L mod.
Playing as it was intended is yet another foreign concept easy mismanaged. With that being said that concept alone along with my hard work and dedication has fueled progress. Release had to be bigger than anything otherwise it was just going to fade into obscurity as the many clones who came before it.

All of these were taking into consideration at the very beginning of the road. After working on the latest Z R P was simply tired of having to re implement everything from what 1 . 1 already had working completely fine, not to mention the progress that absolutely needed to happen in order to differentiate it from just being " L . U . R . K . 1 . 1 " with different shader and texture. The mod by itself was a complete mess at best, and the development team, which I was fortunate enough to have the luxury of company while I was just learning the ins and outs of configuration in general at such a young age, was very opposed to any sort of non reversible change. Including fixing enemies not spawning with ammo, the worst, most bugged and challenging recoil system and I have ever seen and removing terrible visual design choices among other things.
This meant I was left with no other choice, but to do things my own way. Every last thing. From sound design which I am 1 O O % responsible for with outside resources to raw mechanical performance. It paid off doing this, because one quick look at what I have released yesterday will tell you there is nothing that comes close to the level of detail that was looked after. There is no mod that has the level of quality that this has and I can say this with confidence. Anything that 2 O 2 O doesn't have showcased in other releases it doesn't need and or it would work much better in my implementation of it guaranteed. People will disagree with me on whatever they feel and chances are try to steal what it is I worked on, but it doesn't matter.
