Description:

Xen Forces: Breath Of Xen is a ancient Half-Life 2 mod created in 2006 by russian developer Sergey Zemenko aka DMF Studios. When it was released it contained a lot of technical bugs due to which the mod worked very poorly on the latest versions of Half-Life 2 (Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer). This 2022 update fixes a significant portion of the bugs in the old version.

Major changes:

2. Fixed problems with lighting
3. Fixed visual leaks
4. Improved consistency of the environment
5. Added subtitles in English and Russian
6. Added support for the latest version of Half-Life 2 (Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer)

STORY:

The main hero (Jack Wheaton) is a prisoner, who escaped from prison together with others. But on the second day their hideout was already attacked by cops. Jack managed to escape from the police. But he didn’t know that he is the subject of a very dangerous experiment and that some kind of Xen creature was implanted into his body. If a human will be able to control it then he would be gifted with special abilities, if not – then he’ll turn into a monster… The game takes place in City 14 approximately the same time as when the original HL2 did. City 14 is part of a network of four cities connected together, which create an industrial sector of the combine. The cities are City 13, City 14, City 16 and City 17. Recently the entrance to City 16 was closed because the city itself became very dangerous. Until that time it was isolated from other cities, but after the incident at the combine base in City 13 the combine forcefields were disabled.

Instructions:

1. In Steam, click "Library" and write in the search: Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer

2. When you find it then right click it and select "Properties..."

3. On the "BETAS" tab, click the drop-down list, select "upcoming - upcoming" and close this window

4. Go back to the "Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer", right click it and click "INSTALL"

5. Once installed, place the "XenForces" folder in your "sourcemods" folder

(by default it should be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods")

6. Restart your Steam and "Xen Forces: Breath Of Xen" will show up on your Steam Games List
