Gender Equality
Default | At the beginning of the game, the tenets of the major religions have a historically accurate approach to gender equality, including the clergy and the doctrine of female and male adultery. All lands have historically accurate rules of inheritance for men and women. | |
Equal | At the beginning of the game, the tenets of the major religions have a gender equality approach, and this also applies to the clergy. The adultery doctrine for man and woman is the same. All lands have equal rules of inheritance for men and women. | |
Inverted | At the beginning of the game, the tenets of the major religions have an inverted (than historically) approach to gender equality, including the clergy and the doctrine of female and male adultery. All lands have inverted rules of inheritance for men and women. |
Local Heresies
Strict | 200x chance that heresies in specific regions will be historical. | |

Mongol Invasion
Default | One of the AI-controlled characters will become the Greatest of Khans between 1180 and 1250 if the player has not previously won the title. | |
