In search of Robert | Walkthrough Bounty Train Guide

Your main objective in the game is to defeat your competition and obtain as many shares of the company as possible. First, you have to find your brother Robert. As of now, you have to complete three tasks:

1. Go to Buffalo (you have the license from Jeremiah, you do not have to pay for that),
2. Buy crew carriage ($280). If you want to buy any other carriage, refrain from that - your engine will not handle additional load. Not all of the depots offer single carriages, so try in New York.
3. Hire a guard - pick a character with his name in yellow, at the station, to check his offer. At Boston station, you will find Bill Hickok, who will gladly join your crew for free, after you buy the carriage and talk to him.

Before that, however, take a few more trips around here - in New York, it is a good idea to trade tobacco - it is a profitable merchandise in here and it does not weigh much.

Combat screen

On your way to Buffalo, you will be attacked by bandits. You have to fight them, because the route is blocked off. The only thing you have to do is select the character and have him attack or change positions, for better aiming. During the fight, you can use tactical pause to stop the battle and consider your strategy. Try to attack your opponents with the strongest weapons you have. Keep in mind that you will have to pay for hospital treatment of your crew members!

You can treat your crew members at the local hospitals (for a payment)

In Buffalo, you can use the services of the hospital, if you have sustained any injuries in the fight. Also, you have to find your brother - ask around at the station. Graham and Frank will agree to help you for a favor. Also, there is Amelia, but the job to find her husband is just a small side mission.

The Buffalotrain station

Graham wants you to deliver to him a chest from Utica, whereas Frank insists on you delivering a letter to Portland. It is a good idea to deliver the letter for information and deliver the chest, for a payment (several hundred dollars). The mission ends after you reach Portland and talk to Mary - she will direct you to Pittsburgh to search for your brother.

The fee for the license on the Buffalo-Pittsburgh route is $300. There, you will find a repair party and Robert. It is a good idea to save some room in the carriage, because you can buy ammo cheaply, in the camp - a valuable merchandise.

The first encounter

Now, you have to head for New York and buy 10 dynamite. If you have not yet upgraded the cargo carriage, I recommend you do that now. Each cargo carriage can be upgraded by additional cargo space, but only several additional fields. The best thing to do is buy a carriage with the capacity of 10 - its weight is lower than that of two carriages of 5. Optionally, you may also be required to upgrade your locomotive, or replace it. In cities to the North-West, you can buy John Bull 4-2-0 locomotive, which is perfect for that much cargo.

Enter the gunsmith's accept the contract, or pay for dynamite

Once there, go to (Gunsmith's). However, it is not too easy to obtain dynamite - it is more than $2000. However, you can agree to the gunsmith's offer and deliver ammo (4 units) to Pittsburgh. To avoid being caught with illicit ammo:

1. Do not stop in the cities, where it is illegal (load coal up),
2. Mix it with lightweight cargo, for diversity (with the ratio of 50:50, at least),
3. Upgrade the carriage by Smuggling compartments (in the depot of any city).

If you fail the mission, you will have to pay the full amount for dynamite. Once you buy it, transport it to the repair location near Pittsburgh. It is better, however, to try and complete the mission - you will then be able to take contracts from smugglers.

Later, you will have to take the dynamite to Washington and give it to George at the train station. Finally, take Robert Reed to Cincinnati. If there is still room in your crew carriage, you can enlist him for your crew for free.
