ARK: Farming creatures - most useful ARK Survival Evolved guide, tips

In this chapter you will find information about most useful dinosaurs used to farm, with a short description, information about their locations and tables representing the taming process.
Dung Beetle
A very useful creature when you are focused on farming vegetables. It's a poor fertilizer supplier and you can find it only in caves. The creature is not aggressive - it will attack you only if you approach it. It feeds on feces and spoiled meat. It can only be tamed with a non-aggressive method.
Characteristic:
- A farming creature
- Not aggressive
Killing it gives you:
- Chitin
- Raw Meat
You can find it in caves scattered around the map. In the WORLD MAP chapter you can find the exact locations.
Taming Dung Beetle
To begin the taming process you must carefully approach the creature and start feeding it. It's recommended to lure the creature into a safe spot - during the taming process it can move around and venture into a dangerous zone. Repeat the feeding process once it becomes available and continue doing so until the creature is tamed.

A tamed Dung Bettle will supply you with a material used to create fertilizers. Those are needed to farm vegetables and berries.
Dodo
A creature resembling a chicken, require to start "egg farming" - this will allow you to get a Pteradon quicker. You will lose a lot of precious time and resources if you lack Dodo eggs used to create kibble.
Characteristic:
- Herbivore
- Taming a pair of those will allow you to farm dodo eggs
- Not aggressive - it will flee once attacked
Killing it gives you:
- Hide
- Raw Meat

Taming Dodo
Taming this creature is a trivial task. You just have to run after the creature and use your preferred weapon to stun it. The only problem when taming it are the nearby enemies and other aggressive creatures.

Dodoes are a good method to quickly acquire a Pteradon. You will need a pair of those creatures for the task - a male and a female. Leave them in a safe place once tamed and they will return the favor by giving you eggs needed to create Kibble.
Dilophosaur
Another creature easy to tame. Doing so will give you quick access to eggs. Eggs in turn are used both in early and late game - they will allow you to tame three dinosaurs a lot quicker: Ankylos, Daedicurus and Pachy. It's an aggressive and very mobile creature.
Characteristic:
- Carnivorous
- Aggressive - it will attack you on sight
- Gives access to the most valuable eggs in the early phase of the game
- A small dinosaur
Killing it gives you:
- Hide
- Raw Meat

Taming Dilophosaur
You must attack the creature directly, trying not to kill it in the process. During the taming process you must watch out for other creatures - those are a direct threat to the creature you're trying to tame.
