ARK: Beacons - basic information ARK Survival Evolved guide, tips
Last update: 12 June 2020
Beacons are objects that fall to the ground very slowly. There are six different colors of beacons that determine the level required to open them. Inside we can find a multitude of useful items, such as:
- Resources
- Equipment
- Crafting parts
- Blueprints
Obviously, the higher level required for opening, the higher the chance of finding decent items. The game offers underwater counterparts of Airdrops - Underwater Loot Crates, described in the last part of this chapter. Levels required to open containers:
- White - level 3
- Green - level 15
- Blue - level 25
- Purple - level 35
- Yellow - level 45
- Red - level 60
- Underwater - level 80
Blueprints can be used to craft items with a rank higher than the basic one. Names of regular items are white, while the airdrops allow the player to craft blue ones. They have higher stats than regular ones.
Beacon drop locations
Beacons appear in predefined places, with a randomly generated color. It means that even if you found a blue drop in a certain place, a red one can appear there next.
After a container appears at a certain altitude, it falls to the ground for a couple of minutes. When it finally reaches the ground, its health starts to decrease. When it reaches 0, the container is destroyed. The same happens if the player takes everything out of the container. If at least one item is left, it stays there until the drop's health reaches 0. Players with insufficient level cannot access the container.
Beacon location map
The colors signify the best possible drop in a specific location. The levels of containers get higher along with the difficulty of survival.
