The plot of Star Fox Zero tells a story of four friends – Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy, who have to save the Lylat system from dangerous enemies.

The story begins in 1996 and its main plot focuses around a series of mysterious deaths of spies belonging to both Eastern and Western intelligence agencies. In order to solve the case, a special international unit called Kingsbridge Executive is created. Players become members of this elite squad and are sent to various locations, such as Vienna or NASA bunker in Washington.
