RPG 10 November 2015

The fourth major installment in the post-apocalyptic RPG series launched in 1997 by Black Isle Studios and Interplay. Starting from the third part, released in 2008, Bethesda acquired the rights to the franchise and took the reins of the subsequent production set in the cult post-apocalyptic universe. The game’s style is reminiscent of its two predecessors, in which – unlike in the first parts of the cycle – we experience the events from first-person perspective.

Action 23 June 2015

The fourth installment in the action game series, featuring the titular comic book superhero. The game was developed by Rocksteady, the studio which had previously worked on Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. The plot depicts the next chapter of Batman’s adventures. This time, the hero must face Scarecrow, who successfully terrorized Gotham City.

A first-person horror adventure game that started as a research project by a group of students from University of South California. We play as a member of Neurostalgia Institute, which focuses on unveiling the secrets within the patients’ minds. Gameplay comes down to exploring, solving puzzles and discovering mysteries hidden by the inmates.

An online multiplayer strategy game with dungeon crawler elements, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is set in the fantasy kingdom of Opulencia, in which every citizen has their own castle with a treasure room full of valuables. The gameplay consists mostly of protecting your goods with guards and various traps, and also of setting out to plunder other people's castles.

Action 01 September 2015

A third person perspective stealth action game belonging to the famous Metal Gear Solid franchise. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was created by the Japanese studio Kojima Productions (formerly a subsidiary of Konami) led by Hideo Kojima. The story is set after the events presented in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which served as a prologue. The main hero – Punished Snake – awakes in a hospital bed after having spent 8 years in a coma.

A unique platform game with highly interesting visuals. It is the first production by Moon Spider, whose members used to work for e.g. Pixar, Dreamworks, and Studio Ghibli. The backgrounds and characters have been hand-drawn by experienced specialist artist. The game also features a gospel choir soundtrack. In Harold you play as a guardian angel called Gabe. His main task is to protect the clumsy, bespectacled Harold during a series of races on a tracks full of obstacles.

A horror adventure game designed specially for PlayStation Move controller. This title was developed by the British studio Supermassive Games who previously created Wonderbook: Walking with Dinosaurs and Start the Party!. The game’s story is inspired of B-class horror films. Horror fans will easily notice numerous references to their favorite film genre when it comes to dialogues and typical plot twists.

A mobile and browser spin-off of the highly popular MMO game - World of Tanks, the game combining strategy and card game. In this game from Wargaming.net studio, players’ main task is to destroy enemy headquarter using their own units, representing one of the four fractions: USA, USRR, France, and Germany. Battles are conducted by playing cards – which symbolize different military formations – from a self made deck, built from a pool of over 200 cards.

The game was created by The Chinese Room, the developer known for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Dear Esther. The game is set in a small village in Britain. Each playthrough lasts 60 minutes and you have no clear objectives to follow. The open world is inhabited by 6 independent characters, each one having their own ideas on how to spend the last moments of life.

An ambitious action-adventure game with survival horror elements, developed by the Polish three-man studio Phobia Interactive. The plot of A Short Tale of Solitude was inspired by the works of such authors as H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, William Golding, and Stefan Grabinski. The action is set after World War I. In the game, you assume the role of 10-year-old Sebastien who, after his parents die, is placed in an orphanage in North-East France.

This is the debut from the independent developer Squad. The game is an unusual simulator requiring the player to develop their own space program from scratch. Kerbal Space Program combines features of many genres, but the most important part here is an extensive ship editor, which allows the player to design and build their own, unique spacecraft. The ship is then supposed to fly and land safely on a moon of the Kerbin planet.

The production is set in the so-called golden age of piracy (early 18th century). You play as an adventurer, who travels around the New World in search for fame and riches.

Running with Rifles is a 2D top-down shooter developed by a one-person Finnish studio Modulaatio Games. The game features open world and RPG elements. We play as a soldier who, along with his company, has to take over an enemy base, and at the same time protect his own from being taken over. Maps on which the game takes place are around one square kilometer big. There are up to fourteen camps, divided between a couple of factions, on each of them.

An indie game by an experienced developer, who has worked on such productions as End of Nations, Tiger Woods, and NFL Street. In Axiom Verge you play as a man called Trace, who dies and is reborn in a fantasy world, where futuristic and archaic technologies blend. Trace quickly asserts that the new environment and the beings inhabiting it are trying to kill him. The protagonist explores locations filled with traps and enemies as he runs, jumps, and shoots with a gun.

A 2D platform game with an open world, inspired by Greek mythology. It was developed by an indie Canadian studio Alien Trap, known from, e.g. the well-received platform game Capsized. The game tells the story of Hera, who overthrows her husband, Zeus, and, driven by her dislike towards mortals, decides to obliterate them. You play as a hero, who has to reach the summit of Mount Olympus to save humanity and end the tyranny of the gods.

The works were supervised by Erik Svedang - an independent game maker, popular mainly for a surrealistic platformer Blueberry Garden. The game is set in the world of computers, where atoms got replaced by bits. The player takes on the role of a programmer who receives access to the code which governs this reality and gradually learns new ways of manipulating it.

A first-person MMO shooter set in the post-apocalyptic setting of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which was based on the motifs from Roadside Picnic, a novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. sZone is the debut production from the Russian studio Cybertime Systems. The players assume the role of stalkers – daredevils brave enough to venture deep inside the restricted area surrounding the destroyed nuclear plant in Chernobyl in search of valuable artifacts.

The game was created by an Ukrainian developer studio with a somewhat unique name – Flying Cafe for Semianimals, whose members formerly worked on such titles as Heroes of Might & Magic V and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The story focuses on a young man and his robotic female companion, who travel to desert hills of Mongolia. The player has to find his partner’s missing body parts and bring her back to full functionality.

We play as a little creature that only moves to the right, traversing levels filled with traps and enemies. Our character can fight back by throwing objects or attacking with a stick, while he retains his distance.

The dark plot of Raven's Cry is greatly influenced by the player’s choices.
