Here you can read how long it takes to complete The Serpent Rogue by only doing the main story - completing story quests and reaching the final boss fight and the ending, as well as the more time-consuming - getting achievements, completing the Bestiary pages, learning recipes and ingredients.

A large part of The Serpent Rogue, in terms of its length, is spent on gathering resources, earning gold and waiting for certain events - Corruption Storm that prevents you from staying in locations, or when the ship with recruits arrives. On the other hand, the main quests must be completed sequentially, and the side quests are only a filler - they don't reward you with gold or interesting items. They often have a form of a tutorial that introduces the player to certain mechanics.

To complete the game by knowing the rules and keeping exploration and grinding to a minimum, you can complete the game within 4-8 hours. However, if you try to discover the recipes for potions on your own, complete all pages of the Bestiary, and get all achievements, the play time may be closer to 20-30 hours depending on luck, resource strategies and player's skills.
