Basic information | The basics SUPERHOT Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Superhot is a game characterized by simple mechanics. One thing that you should keep in mind - and you will learn it from the very beginning - is that time is the most important factor. It only flies when you move, so as soon as you notice an incoming enemy, aim at him (aiming takes place when time stops). As a fact, time flies even when you stand still (but very slowly). It allows you to take accurate shots, gives you time to think, but most of all, it helps you to dodge bullets. As the bullets need some time to reach their targets, you should adjust your shots in case of opponents that run perpendicularly or diagonally towards you. You will need a moment to stabilize your gun before you can actually take a shot. To kill an enemy, you need to hit him with your pistol, it doesn't matter where. However, you can't kill two enemies with a single bullet. If you run out of ammo, you can throw your weapon and then use your fists.
Each of your enemies has 3 health points and a single hit takes one of them (throwing an object will only slow down your opponents). Enemies can kill each other with their guns so try to use this trick by positioning yourself in the right places. Furthermore, a single punch will also take you down. A weapon will disintegrate into pieces if you throw it. You will get the same result if you hit it with another weapon. Your enemies have unlimited ammo and the amount of bullets they shoot will not affect the amount of ammo that is left in a gun. A bullet fired by your opponent can be stopped in several ways: the easiest one - by dodging it, throwing a weapon or a different object at it, destroying it with your fist or katana. It is also possible for bullets to hit each other and disintegrate into pieces. Apart from melee weapons (club, crowbar, katana), you can come across guns that have limited ammo:
- A rifle - 3 series of 4 rounds
- A pistol - 5
- A shotgun - 2
Hotswitch - A special ability that you will unlock after level 21. It allows you to take control over an opponent that is within your sight, and kill the character you switched from. Furthermore, you throw away all your weapons, and you should use this ability carefully. Although the hotswitch needs few seconds to recharge, you can use it unlimited number of times.
Warning - Numbering of levels was prepared in the correct order but it does not match the one presented in the game (certain levels like "7" and "9" were skipped, besides "8").
