First game in Secret Neighbor This page contains some basic tips that will help you get acquainted with the game. These tips will make playing against other players easier.
Playing as children
Play by ear
Secret Neighbor is best played with headphones because the neighbor's every attempt to disguise himself can be easily heard - thanks to that, you can tell that he is hiding in the neighboring room. Moreover, searching for keys also requires good ear - opening a closet with a key is signaled by a characteristic sound.
Remember the color of the locks on the basement door.
This is very important - to unlock the door, you don't just need any key. The keys have to match the color of the lock. Try to remember the number of locks and their color.
If you are not afraid of the dark - get rid of your flashlight!
If you can see well enough in the dark, you can always throw your flashlight away. This gives you extra space in the inventory! Until you find a key, you can, for example, carry 2 boxes that protect you from the neighbor.
Two boxes are enough to paralyze the neighbor for some time - if you pick them up quickly after throwing, you have a chance of incapacitating the neighbor!
The quicker the reaction, the better!
Sometimes, it may happen that you're facing the neighbor alone, as the rest of the team is searching for keys - The faster you throw boxes at the neighbor, the better (by default, the right mouse button) Each successful throw at the neighbor incapacitates him, making him unable to perform any action (aside from escaping).
Sometimes it's better to hide
Sometimes, instead of an open fight with the neighbor, you can hide from him - the players playing as the neighbor don't have the tendency to open closets. Use this and hide from him - remember not to do it when in range of the neighbor. In the closet, you can look through the keyhole to see if the neighbor is still there.
Use skills
Each of the characters has their own unique abilities and passive skills, for example, Detective can view a photo of a location with the key, while Leader can buff the rest of the children, giving them faster movement for a short while. The correct use of abilities of all children will greatly speed up your progress during the match.
Playing as a neighbor
Use disguises and blend in with the rest of the children.
At the very beginning of the match, one of the children is a traitor - a neighbor disguised as a child. The disguise ability is available throughout the whole match. Use it to confuse your enemies. Remember that disguise has its limitations because your disguising as one of the opponents - the players can realize that a duplicate of one of the players have appeared and will throw boxes at themselves. This confusion can also be used to redirect attention to the original character.
Try to catch isolated enemies
Always assume that the enemy players have good reflexes - try to catch isolated opponents, so you have enough time to perform the action before the reinforcements arrive. To do that, you can use the pathways protected by bars usable only by the neighbor.
Control the number of open locks
Each opening of a lock is signaled by a loud sound. This should help you choose the next victim and determine the opposing team's progress. It often happens that there is only a single person at the basement door - you can use the opportunity and attempt to attack him.
Use items
Your enemy is not the only one able to throw objects - you, as the neighbor, can do it too. Consider using the ability, as hitting an enemy with a box results in a short daze (the enemy cannot use abilities and defend himself).
