Night in the Woods is an adventure game that takes place in the home town of Mae - the main character. The game accentuates relationships between characters, which is why you will be spending most of the time getting to know your character's old friends and choosing whom you want to spend time with. In the game, you will sometimes have to make choices, or pick a specific dialogue option. However these are of negligible importance from the viewpoint of the story, and do not weigh on the course of the story. What developers focused on is rather telling a story and strengthening bonds between the main characters and her friends.
