Yield! Fall of Rome - save Rome from its fall or seal its fate in the new dynamic strategy 4X game
At the beginning of 2025, players will be able to save the Western Roman Empire or seal its fate. Yield! Fall of Rome is a new 4X strategy game that prioritizes making important decisions over micromanagement.
The fall of the Western Roman Empire was one of the most important events in the history. However, this event is not often depicted in games, and it is precisely the setting of Yield! Fall of Rome. The game is a turn-based 4X strategy, which is an acronym for "explore, expand, exploit and exterminate". The gameplay takes place on maps resembling dioramas.
Yield! Fall of Rome is developed by Billionworlds studio and published by Daedalic Entertainment. The game aims to introduce a 4X strategy genre to a wider audience who may have previously felt overwhelmed by the vast array of options and micromanagement required by the games in this genre.

A dynamic 4X strategy
When playing 4X strategy games, we have to make a lot of small decisions, which at first glance do not have a significant impact on the course of the game. It may also happens that for some time nothing happens in the game, which can cause confusion, and even boredom among people who are accustomed to constant action. Not to mention the many hours of gameplay that seem to never end.
Yield! Fall of Rome tries to approach the topic a little differently – it focuses on quick but intense experiences. The strategy from the Billionworlds studio is more accessible still staying true to the genre it represents. Micromanagement takes a backseat - the decisions that appear at the very beginning of the game are much more important.
The unusual approach of the developers can already be seen in mechanics such as establishing cities or recruiting units. It doesn't take many turns to recruit and send out a squad of scouts. In Yield! Fall of Rome everything happens faster and players are not left with the feeling of wasting time on unnecessary actions. You can expand your empire in a much shorter time.
Decide the future of the Roman Empire
Yield! Fall of Rome takes us on a journey back in time to 401 AD - more precisely, to the moment when the Visigothic king Alaric begins his invasions of the Empire. This is where the players comes into action. During the game, we choose one of eight nations, among which we will find, e.g. the previously mentioned Visigoths, Huns, and, of course, the Romans.
Fans of story campaigns will also find something for themselves in Yield! Fall of Rome. Each nation received story scenarios, transporting players to the 5th century AD. However, we are not passive observers. Decisions made during the game affect the subsequent stages of the story.
If you are not interested in the campaign, you can play in a custom mode, which generates random maps and scenarios. The gameplay then becomes more open-ended, allowing for free exploration and conquering new territories.
Billionworlds has not forgotten about multiplayer fans. The game does feature an online mode. Players can take part in ranked matches, where they can even run several matches at the same time. Yield! Fall of Rome gives players 24 hours to take their turn.
