Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Launches Tomorrow

Tomorrow, on June 11, the fifth generation of the popular Xiaomi Mi Band will be on sale.

Cheap Xiaomi is good because it is good and cheap.

Tomorrow, Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will officially be on sale. As the name suggests, it is already the fifth generation of the extremely popular watch / fitness band hybrid. In this price category, the Chinese have virtually no competition, because other smart wristbands or watches (in the case of Apple) are much more expensive, and those at a similar price usually offer little to no features. Many users believe that Xiaomi's affordable proposals successfully competed against the more expensive rivals and did not differ significantly in terms of built-in sensors.

And as far as usability is concerned, Xiaomi boasts that the screen has grown by as much as 20% (from 0.95 inch to 1.2 inch) compared to Mi Band 4, which is certainly a big plus, as its readability will increase. Magnetic charging will also be a useful and interesting function, which will enable us to charge the band with a cable with a magnet, without having to plug it into the tiny device (a solution similar to MagSafe from older MacBooks). The Mi Band 5 also offers global NFC support (in previous models only Chinese citizens could use contactless payments).

Apart from the most important novelties, Xiaomi also promises an improved sensor for more accurate health monitoring (it is said to offer the possibility of measuring oxygen concentration in blood), a remote camera option (probably a button for taking pictures with a devica that, for example, stands on a tripod in front of us), "professional" sports modes and a special, quite interesting, new health model for women. It is still unclear whether the device will support the voice assistant from Amazon - Alexa, although earlier rumors would suggest it.

The headband can be ordered today at the Chinese Gearbest store for $39.99, but will probably not be shipped until after its official launch on 11 June.
