Xiaomi and AMD Join Forces - New RedmiBook is the Laptop for Everyone?
AMD and Xiaomi have joined forces - as a result, RedmiBook 14 AMD, based mainly on AMD technology, will appear on the market. The device will debut in just a few days.
Wccftech informs that AMD and Xiaomi companies have established cooperation, as a result of which a new laptop will appear on the market - RedmiBook 14 AMD. The device will be equipped with a processor belonging to the Ryzen 3000 family. GizmoChina claims that it will be a quad-core and eight-thered Ryzen 5 3550H unit, supported by Radeon Vega 8 GPU. The devicet will be available on the market in less than a week - on October 21.
It is worth noting that the previous RedmiBook laptops used Intel technology. The more powerful variant has an i7 8565U processor (with a maximum clock of 4.8 GHz), while the weaker has an i5 8265U CPU (up to 3.9 GHz). Both models also feature a Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics card. The new product of the Chinese manufacturer is therefore a big change and it is interesting to see how it will be received by customers.
The existing RedmiBook models - typical for Xiaomi - already offered a very reasonable specification at an affordable price. A new notebook can go even further in this respect - AMD components are cheaper than Intel's alternatives, and using processor and GPU manufactured by the same company will lead to further cost reduction. If that happens, we may be dealing with a real market hit.
