Xenonauts 2 is a new turned-based strategy game. Your task is to become a leader of titular Xenonauts. It is an organization which fights against aliens who are trying to conquer our planet. The title started in the Early Access phase. However, even now it gathered many fans. In our guide we will tell you some useful tips on how to win the game.
Xenonauts 2 – Building Layout
- Concentrate on Laboratories in the first place. As research is the main way to progress the game. Of course, you can’t forget about soldiers. Those two groups should be prioritized. After starting the game you will get a small base. There are some buildings there. What you have to do is Build Laboratory, Medical Center and Training Center ASAP.
- Many buildings get bonuses if they are next to others. Keep that in mind and try to make your base layout accordingly. Keep at least one empty space near structures which may benefit form neighborhood.
Xenonauts 2 – Soldiers and Stats
- Statistics are very important. Basically, you should not hire soldiers who have any stat below 40. However, depending on the role, different people need various abilities more. For example, Snipers need mostly Accuracy. While frontline units (like Assaults and Shields) must have high Time Units and Strength. Everyone needs HP.
- A good starting unit combination is a mix of Assault/Shield units, which will be your vanguard, and some Riflemen who will be able to support others with their medical abilities. To that mix, you should also add a Sniper or two, Heavy and Grenadier to be prepared for everything.
Xenonauts 2 – Combat
- Progress cautiously. The map is hidden behind the fog of war, and you will have to uncover it yourself. You don’t know where the enemies are and what is the layout. Don’t use all Time Units. Leave some in the case enemies appear from nowhere. Don’t enter rooms if you don’t have enough movement to shoot an enemy. In the open space, keep your units behind a Shield. Use windows, to check building before you enter them. Generally, be prepared that behind every corner there is something which may kill you.
- Remember that weapons have different modes of shooting. They cost various amount of TU. It is crucial to learn how to use them properly.
- Keep in mind also that many environmental elements may be destroyed. The wall, which was in the place a turn ago, may be not there soon enough. It is something which may be used by enemies, but you should not hesitate to demolish something yourself.
