Xbox Games Showcase Won't Flood Us With Pre-rendered Trailers, Microsoft Promises
Microsoft has ambitious plans for the Xbox Games Showcase. Among other things, the company promises that none of its games will be presented solely in the form of a pre-rendered video.
We have entered a period filled with numerous game company shows. The season opened with Sony's recent PlayStation Showcase, and on June 11 Microsoft will hold an Xbox Games Showcase. Now we have learned a little about what the Redmond giant is preparing for the event.
- Microsoft's showcase will last about two hours.
- It will be filled exclusively with games - no movie or TV projects will appear.
- None of Microsoft's games will be presented exclusively in the form of a pre-rendered video - all will show gameplay or at least scenes on the game engine.
- Microsoft has dropped the rule of only showing games due for release within 12 months of the showcase. As a result, the Xbox Games Showcase will also see projects that are at a relatively early stage of work.
- The source of this information is Aaron Greenberg, the deputy head of Xbox's marketing department.
