WWII multiplayer FPS Days of War is launching in Early Accesss on January 26, 2017
Are you missing the good old World War II shooters? Days of War may just be what you have been hoping for. This multiplayer WWII FPS is launching in Steam Early Access later this month.
Later this month – on January 26 – Steam will see the release of Days of War in Early Access, a Kickstarter-funded World War II multiplayer first-person shooter powered by Unreal Engine 4. In development by independent studio Driven Arts, which is made up of people who worked on franchises like Dead Island, Batman Arkham, and The Witcher, Days of War is going to revisit the history’s most infamous armed conflict with the classic approach of WWII shooters from the early 2000s, where skill counted more than kill-streaks or wall jumps. Here’s the first gameplay footage:
Initially, the Early Access version – priced at $24.99 – is going to offer 32-player multiplayer with 20 weapons and 4 maps – as it is in the current playable beta, each battle is to offer different objectives, so gameplay will be more than just about killing more opponents than the other team. New maps, game modes, and playable factions will be added over the course of development along with cosmetic progression and stat tracking systems and a map editor with Steam Workshop support. The full release is planned to happen in the next 12 months – first on PC and later on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Here’s a detailed roadmap for the Early Access period.
