Denuvo in another highly anticipated game. Addition of this security feature to Doom: The Dark Ages comes as unpleasant surprise

Denuvo won't be found in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but in Doom: The Dark Ages, which will be secured with this DRM technology.

Doom: The Dark Ages won't follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones and will be protected with Denuvo technology.

The information is confirmed by the game card on Steam, which appeared after the announcement of the release date of this unusual installment of the Doom series, which is a prequel to the acclaimed Doom Eternal. Players were unpleasantly surprised because the previous game released by Bethesda, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, didn't have Denuvo in the commercial version (it was only used to protect copies for reviewers to prevent leaks).

Although the commotion around this technology has clearly subsided in the past year, players still reluctantly view games equipped with this anti-piracy protection. Depending on the source, this is due either to the negative impact of Denuvo on game performance, or to the effectiveness of this DRM. In any case, many game fans are deeply affected when it turns out that the game they have been eagerly awaiting will be secured with the help of this technology.

Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
