- 2K Sports has announced WWE 2K22, which will go on sale later this year.
During Wrestlemania 37, 2K Sports announced a new installment of the WWE 2K series that will go on sale this year. The short teaser, posted below, focuses on the character of Rey Mysterio.
It looks like WWE 2K22 will receive a significantly improved graphics engine, which will allow for more richly detailed wrestler models. Hopefully, this will also be followed by better animatiosn and, most importantly, fewer bugs.
The WWE 2K series will return to the market after a one-year hiatus. WWE 2K20 launched in 2019 and was heavily criticized for replayability, a gigantic number of bugs, and a terrible lack of optimization. That's when the game's publisher parted ways with Yuke, the devs responsible for working on the IP and announced that the series would be taking a year-long break to fine-tune the game engine.
