Consequences of choosing the wrong profile
We have not been able to find any negative consequences of choosing the wrong profile in Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. From our observations, the only thing that changes is the dialogue.
If an incorrect answer is selected some character - Dr. Watson or the person concerned himself - corrects the player and tips you on the right track. This lengthens the conversation a bit, but has little effect on the final solution of a given puzzle or on its progress.
Of course, if you are a perfectionist, it is advisable to use a manual save before talking to more important characters. Alternatively, load one of the many autosaves.
