Does Sherlock Holmes The Awakened Have Open World

In this guide, we will tell you if Sherlock Holmes The Awakened offers an open world. Read this article before buying the game.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is a new and at the same time old adventure game from Frogwares. It is a remake of the 2006 game of the same title. The famous detective, along with his friend Dr. Watson, must face mysterious dark forces. Those familiar with Cthulhu mythos will feel right at home. The original game had no open world, but Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One (the team's previous title) featured one. In this guide, we'll tell you if it's possible to get lost in the remake.

Open world in Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

The play area in Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is divided into several maps. In each chapter we explore different locations and even countries. Unfortunately, the game does not feature an open world.

The maps give the player the opportunity to explore a few surrounding streets and look at the outside of buildings (you can enter selected story-related locations). Of course, in some places be prepared for less urban views. However, have no illusions - these are merely scenes for the events of the main plot, which are meant to make the world more lively and somewhat realistic.

Walking along the paths, you will quickly notice that they are empty. You will not find on them any interesting events, and you can only talk to passersby if you are looking for information on an investigation. You will also come across various barriers at every step.

Do not expect side activities either.. The developers have not provided for such (or at least we did not manage to find them). Sherlock Holmes The Awakened focuses on the main storyline, and it's up to you to decide whether this is good or bad.
