We are only twelve days away from the premiere of Silent Hill 2 Remake, the new version of the cult survival horror from 2001. The game will hit PlayStation 5 and PC simultaneously. Initially, the development of a PC version was far from certain. This information comes from an interview that the developers from the Polish studio Bloober Team, responsible for the remake, gave to the Bankier.pl service.

  1. The devs revealed that Konami sees the Silent Hill brand as strongly associated with PlayStation consoles. From the beginning, Bloober Team had to put a lot of pressure on the publisher to convince them to develop a PC version.
  2. The devs anticipate that most of the revenue will come from the PS5 version, but they highlight the high interest in the game on Steam, so they also anticipate positive outcomes from the PC edition.
  3. The CEO of the Polish studio noted that Konami is very pleased with the cooperation with Bloober Team and the team hopes that in the future both companies will develop further projects together.

The remake of Silent Hill 2 will be released on October 8th this year, simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC. People who buy the Deluxe edition will be able to start playing two days earlier. The production will offer a cinema localization, i.e. with Polish subtitles.

The remake is a console exclusive for PS5 thanks to a deal signed between Konami and Sony. The deal will remain in force until October 8, 2025, and after this date, the game may also be released on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
