Windows 10: Game Bar Gets FPS Counter
Microsoft has made a few improvements to the Game Bar. After the October update, the bar will show, among other things, the frame rate counter and Xbox achievements.
Good news for PC players who like to keep everything under control. Microsoft has added a frame rate counter to the Windows Game Bar overlay. Probably most of you are not using it anyway, but it's good to know that the Redmond giant is actually developing its functions. How does the Game Bar work? It's an application that enables us to open several small windows on the screen in the form of an overlay or sidebar. The windows present the performance meter, active friends and, since the October update, the FPS counter and Xbox achievements.
The bar can be launched by a combination of Win + G keys. It is worth noting that the patch introducing the FPS counter requires not only agreeing to additional system permissions, but also a reboot. Let's add that with the ability to monitor frames per second, players have control over what system resources are being tracked and displayed on the screen. There are also customizable options, such as the degree of transparency of the bar.
Microsoft stresses that these changes have been made with the help of a community of players who faithfully support the company and report their needs through Windows Insider. It is worth noting that the frame rate counter is present on Steam, as well as in programs dedicated to Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. It is good that Microsoft joined this group, answering the gamers' needs.
