WildStar goes free-to-play
WildStar is now a free-to-play game with micropayments and optional subscription. Apart from cosmetic bonuses for paying players, all content of the Carbine’s MMORPG is free to everyone.
Carbine’s MMORPG WildStar ditched paid subscriptions today and shifted into free-to-play model with optional microtransactions. All foregoing players should download the newest patch to continue playing. Anyone interested in joining in should visit the game’s official website, register and download the client.
Those with active subscription or recurring payement get access to the so-called Signature service, an optional subscription that offers unique bonuses and benefits (outside of standard game’s content, whcich is entirely free). More details on the new rules can be found on WildStar’s official website FAQ section. Here’s a new trailer:
WildStar launched in June, 2014 as a pay-to-play MMO game. The title was published by NCsoft, the creators of Guild Wars franchise. Although WildStar got high scores in reviews, apparently the publisher was not satisfied with the number of players, which lead to the transition we are now seeing.
