What Is Xbox All Access? Price, conditions and everything you need to know

Xbox All Access is a new service from Microsoft that lets you buy an Xbox for a small amount of money paid regularly over 2 years. Below you can find everything you need to know about Xbox All Access. Price, conditions, advantages and disadvantages.

Microsoft's Xbox All Access will help those who don't have any money saved for the new Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S. Microsoft's clever and encouraging sales strategy for the new console is based on subscriptions – in other words, installments.

Xbox All Access is actually one of Microsoft's ways to get more gamers to buy their console. It's also an opportunity to try out another service – the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The payment is spread over 24 months. There are, naturally, two options – Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This article will tell you all about Xbox All Acces, including the pricing, variants, risk and benefits.

So, what is Xbox All Access? Xbox All Access is a new way to pay for the Xbox Series X/S console and the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service based on paying a monthly subscription. You end up paying $34.99 a month for Xbox Series X, and $24.99 for Xbox Series S. You get the console immediately (depending on availability, of course), and you have to pay the first installment within 30 days of the console shipping date.

How much does Xbox All Access cost in 2021?

Xbox All Access costs $840 for Xbox Series X ($34.99 a month) and $600 for Xbox Series S ($24.99 a month). After 24 months of paying for a subscription, the console is yours and you don't have to pay a cent more (except for the Game Pass Ultimate, if you wish to continue the subscription, of course).

What are Xbox All Access requirements?

Xbox All Access is really an installment system disguised as subscription – in other words, to enjoy your the new Xbox console for the price of $34.99 a month, you have to sign a financial agreement with a bank. What does that mean? Microsoft doesn't finance your console – a bank partnered with one of the participating stores does. So, in order to join Xbox All Access, you must pass a credit check (and, of course, be of legal age). Currently in the U.S., the stores that offer Xbox All Access include Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Gamestop. The bank that handles the installments is Citizen One (Citizens Bank, N.A.). There's no way to bypass the bank – you have to pass the verification.

Is there a catch?

No. Xbox All Access is 0% APR installments. There are no additional fees or hidden obligations. All you have to do is pay your subscription on time each month. If you fail to do so – as with any financial agreement with a bank – the bank may take appropriate measures, including informing the credit bureaus.

Do I have to go through a credit check?

That's right. The whole operation is handled by Citizen One bank – as with any installment agreement, the bank will evaluate your creditworthiness and make a decision based on that probe.

Xbox All Access – what's included?

Depending on the subscription option you choose, you'll get either an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console (complete with peripherals, of course), as well as access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for 24 months. It also means 24 months of Xbox Live Gold benefits and monthly games for free.

Is Xbox All Access worth it?

Yes. Not only does it allow you to split the price of an Xbox console into small installments, but you also save money on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. A 24-month Game Pass Ultimate subscription currently costs $360. However, if you choose All Access when buying Xbox Series X, you will pay about $840, which means you save $20. As for Xbox Series S, you will save $60. In addition to the console, you will get a Game Pass, as well as free games or discounts.

I don't need Game Pass Ultimate – can I order Xbox All Access without Game Pass and lower the price with it?

Unfortunately, no. The Xbox All Access program in its current form is always paired with Game Pass Ultimate. There is no way to opt out from the game pass subscription.

Is Xbox All Access available in Canada?

Yes, in Canada, the service costs $39.99 per month for the Xbox Series X and $29.99 for the Xbox Series S. The difference is that in Canada, the whole procedure is handled by PayPlan by RBC. The only store that is part of Xbox All Access is EB Games. Remember, it is hard to get an Xbox in Canada right now - all units are sold out.

Can I cancel Xbox All Access?

Yes, but only during the first 30 days of the contract. The method of return and cancellation depends on the policy of the vendor from whom you purchase the service. Then, the contract becomes binding and you have to pay it back.
