Weird West From Dishonored Devs Gets Release Date
We got to know the release date of Weird West - an RPG from the co-creators of Dishonored. Along with it we got a fresh gameplay showing mechanics, character outline and expected game length.
Have you ever wondered how would RDR2 look like with fantasy elements? It seems that Raphael Colantonio - founder and former head of Arkane Studios (known for Dishonored or the recently released Deathloop) - has asked himself the same question. And so, together with his new independent studio WolfEye, he began work on Weird West - an isometric action RPG set in the Wild West with supernatural elements..
Now, two years after the game's announcement, we finally found out when it will launch. The release is schedule for January 11, 2022. To familiarize players with what exactly this title is to be, the devs have prepared a series of videos titled "The Road to Weird West"; the first episode of which is already available (below).
Weird West belongs to the immersive sim genre, which means that it emphasizes the player's choices and offers many ways to solve the problems posed using a variety of complex gameplay systems. The developers claim that the game is expected to provide approximately 40 hours of gameplay.
It will be divided into five parts - each will tell the story of the struggle of a different protagonist. What is the special connection between these characters? We'll find out at the end of the story. Target hardware platforms of Weird West are PC, Xbox One and PS4.
